"Two women prisoners were driven 50 miles to a men’s jail so they could give makeovers to transgender inmates.
The women, who are enrolled on a beauty course behind bars, gave haircuts and other treatments to robbers Bethany Stevenson and Louise Footman.
They were taken from HMP Drake Hall in Eccleshall, Staffordshire to HMP Hewell in Redditch, Worcestershire, spending a whole day there, the Sun reported.
And prison officers clocked up more than an hour of overtime because they did not leave until one of the transitioning women was satsified with her new look.
The inmates reportedly paid for the treatment themselves – but the taxpayer will foot the bill for transport and extra pay."
