I thought this was a massive improvement over the X-Men origins that we got. I especially liked how he was in Japan.

I just can't get over the fact that he knows nothing about Japan, that annoys the hell out of me. I grew up reading the stories where Logan is the Japan expert of X-Men, pointing out to everyone else the kind of things pointed out to him here. And it doesn't quite make sense, as he had been in Japan during the war, even if it can be argued you possibly wouldn't have gotten much culture at the time.
