I still prefer the first one.

James Cameron made the first film, the second, and produced Dark Fate.

The first film is my favorite and has a lot of details hinted in it that are easy to miss. There was a deleted scene, it was never released in the theatrical film, when the T-800 was killing the other women, the other Sarah Connors, he was checking their left leg for a scar.

The 2 detectives were talking about it. However, Sarah Connor didn't get the scar until the end of the movie after Kyle Reese blew the T-800 in half and one of it's parts tore into Sarah's left leg and she pulls it out and crawls over to find Kyle is dead from when he rolled down the stairway and broke his neck.

So had the T-800 actually succeeded in killing her, and checked for the scar, she wouldn't have had it. Because all of the T-800's information was based on a later version of Sarah in time.

A great example of the deleted scene.... the T-800 was checking Ginger to see if she had Sarah's scar right after he shot her and than Sarah called from the Tech Noir night club.
