I would for sure see this if you haven't seen it yet! Especially and I mean especially if you are a Star Wars fan!

The thing is I always feel that what you remember about an old movie like these were a remake seems to spoil it all.

I'm not very happy about it, I rank it somewhere along Episodes II and III. Though I did like those more than most people and public opinion on VII seems to be more positive than mine.

I was really disappointed with it, after the conclusion of the original Star Wars they are somehow back right where they started with a new 'Jedi' who learns her skills in one movie what it took Luke three movies to do.

For one. I didn't care for Kylo Ren. I thought he was stupid. He's probably the biggest joke in villain history next to Harry and Marv from Home Alone. Not just that, but he has a temper tantrum and carvs up a console on the ship because his men failed to capture three people, his maturity level goes from that of a 12 year old to being 2.

He than worships and idolizes Darth Vader....who by the way came back as a Jedi when he threw the Palpatine down an electrical or nuclear shaft on the half ass made Death Star and achieved ultimate enlightenment with Obi Wan when he finally became one with the force and died shortly after. Who was also the one for having helped build the foundation for the Empire as well as destroying it 30 years later after he was prophesied as a messiah to destroy the Palpatine and bring balance to the force.

Why does the New Order like Vader? He basically became a traitor to his own Empire when he killed his master. Why hasn't any of this come to light? Surely Kylo's own master of the New Order would know this.

This also shows Kylo or Ben to be a very ignorant and foolish character.

Turning to Dark Side usually is a pretty "ignorant and foolish" move in the first place...
It's a good question how come Anakin isn't talking to Kylo and telling he's an ass? Surely he's tried to contact his spirit if he's such a fan. Does it only work between the light side force users?

But I don't think he's that bad a character. (Compared to, say, Finn.) Particularly I like how he now and then removes helmet/mask; how many masked "cool" villains do that, even if they have no reason (secret identity or disfigurement) not to?
As for tantrums, is it any better anger management to strangle people? Sure, coldblooded killers make cool characters, but I think it's refreshing to have someone slashing out (literally). Besides in that case the whole future of the Order was at risk "because his men failed to capture three people", as proven by subsequent events; that warrants some sort of reaction.

There's still much we don't know about how and why Ben became Kylo. How good a character he is may be decided when(/if) we find out his deeper motives. Vader was cool until we learned his past, hopefully with Kylo it goes the other way round.

Good movie, I loved it. Definitely improved compared to the most recent three. Acting/casting was better this time and that was the biggest difference. Went to watch it with a Star Wars fanatic.
