Not my pet, but a friend had a beagle that ate through the bathroom wall of their condo into the neighbors bathroom and then proceed to destroy the neighbors leather couch. Not sure how much the couch cost.

The betta in the picture is not the one I have, at the moment I get too much reflection from the tank to take a picture of it.

I bought it for £15 very recently from https://www.kingfisheries-aquarium.co.uk/

As soon as I saw it I knew it was a killer due to its static position and total lack of gill movement. I've heard that they develop that behaviour to mimic dead fish, hence to try to prevent attack. Others seemed fairly casual.

When he feels territorial he stands almost vertical on his tail fin.

Very interesting. Was the other fish a beta too?

I don't know, the guy at the aquarium wasn't sure.

I'm trying to not feed it live bait but it's been 5 days and it hasn't touched the pellet food.

Apparently it's quite normal for that breed to take several days to acclimate

The next option will be

but I'd prefer to feed it pellets.
