An American man who was injured by an angry bull at a brutal festival in Spain has said despite the carnage, it was one of the best experiences of his life.
The bull rammed its horn into Matthew Levin’s thigh at the San Fermin festival in Pamplona.
In case you missed it, the festival sees bulls chase red-scarved runners through Pamplona’s cobbled streets during nine days of events.
Unsurprisingly, animal rights groups are outraged about the festival, which has been described as brutal and cruel.
None of that put Levin off though.
The 39-year-old, speaking from his hospital bed, told Sick Chirpse: ‘All in all it’s been one of the best experiences of my life.
‘I was running and I got caught up in some human traffic, I turned and saw the bull heading towards me and I just thought ‘run faster, get out of the way’, I had about three four strides to get away but I guess I didn’t get out of the way quick enough.
If being gored by a bull, is one of the best experiences of his life, I wonder what the worst could be?
