"A man applying for a criminal background check was surprised when police told him he was executed ten years ago.
A 45-year-old man, identified as Mr Chen, applied for the certificate of no criminal convictions for his new job in Guangzhou, China.
But police turned down his application and dropped the bombshell that he was convicted for kidnapping and executed in 2006, reports BBC News.
It was later discovered by reporters at Guangdong Radio and Television Network that the crime was committed by another man (no durr) using the same identity card.
Despite having been finished off a decade ago, Mr Chen says he’s been living a normal life and this is the first identity problem he’s encountered."
