Has this in my leg when I was 10.

Can osteomyelitis be fatal?
Chronic infections can cause general weakness, weight loss, anemia, kidney disease, and other disorders. A severe chronic infection that does not get better with treatment may require removal of the infected part of the body (amputation). Without amputation the infection could spread to the blood and be fatal.

I setup a ramp and tried to jump a ditch and hit a piece of metal right where my growth plate is on my leg which set off a chain reaction of creating my blood to be infected. The first doctors thought it was cancer and wanted to amputate my leg. My mother refused and found a specialist named Doctor Reckless who saved my leg. Very experimental back then.
