I don't have "A favorite" country song, but I do have a handful that I like more than others.

We'll lead with this one and see who agrees.

Right here and right now......

THIS SONG shall here stand for the entire sub-genre of "Crying In Your Beer" Country Songs.

Any objections?

It's always been confusing for me what exactly is country. I have a stereotypical idea of general American country, but I've been thinking the whole genre just doesn't exist here. Yet in recent years I've found out certain Finnish bands have done many covers of country music and there are some examples that clearly go to same genre.

This might not be my absolute favorite, but a catchy and memorable one - in fact it was originally made for a commercial.

Apparently, If the ARTIST says it's country, it is Country.

No matter what certain purists say.

I've heard some 'cowboy' types say that this group ISN'T country.

However, they appeared at the Grand Ol' Opry, and are in the Country Music Hall Of Fame. So it's likely the 'cowboys' don't know what they're talking about.

I was going to add a song, and this came up on the search, so... why not?

The point was to add "Family Tradition" which is a good example of country music being very self aware of its own history and the former singers that made it what it is now.... OK, it's there, it's the first song, you can ignore the other nine, or not.
