Alternative Energy

It seems there is so much talk these days about saving our environment and using alternative energy sources such as biofuels, hydrogen, solar, geothermal, or nuclear energy can meet energy demands better than finite fossil fuels such as oil and coal remains hotly debated.

We can clearly see the impact on some countries when it comes to pollution and the negative effect it does have on all those living in such conditions.

So what are your thoughts on using these Alternative Energy sources?

As long as the government is not using tax payer money for private citizens to use it I am fine with it. But as of right now it still sucks compared to good old oil, coal and nuclear energy.

I was looking at the top 50 most profitable companies in the world the other day and about one third of them are oil companies while another group of them are automotive, while others are energy companies.
You will never really see any true sustainable alternative energy supply no matter what the politicians do to gain public support at election time because more than half of the worlds most powerful companies will never let it happen.
That is just how it is.

As long as the money train keeps making its regular stops, nothing will ever change no matter how destructive it is as each generation assumes it will be some other generation that will have to suffer the consequences of their actions so they just assume they will able to pass the buck along. One day that won't be the case and we will be in real trouble but the people of that day will just play stupid and act as if they had no idea what they were doing would lead to what it lead to because pretending we were clueless is less painful then facing the reality that we knew what was going to come and did nothing to stop it. Their is also another reason to get off of gas and oil and that is the reality that they are finite resources and we shouldn't wait till those finite resources run out before looking at alternatives that are preferably not finite in nature.
