50 minute Windows Update

Recently I had a Windows Update that took 50 minutes and 4 reboots. For a couple days after that my computer had a hard time trying to start up and I found myself doing a hard shut down and restarting for probably 3 mornings. I'm still having problems with the sound icon on my task bar not working and the fix for that is to restart Windows Explorer through Task Manager.

Anyone else having kinks with the latest Windows Update?

You mean like losing Wifi and refusing to connect? Not recognizing the printer that it has been using for three years? Dropping USB ports and bogging down to where you quote Gollum "What's it doing Precious?"

No... no idea.

A Computer Optimist believes Windows 10 to be the best operating system MS has ever come up with.

A Computer Pessimist believes that to be true.

Define 'latest'. My laptop decided to update to 1903 not too long ago - which also took a while and a bunch of reboots - but looking at the version history, that isn't exactly the latest. (Worked fine though.)

Our minister said he'd given up on 10 some time ago and bought a Mac.

My wife did the same thing last week. The worst inconvenience she had was having to get a USB adapter to use her label printer from the Mac.

Right now, I'm typing this on an XP machine, and it's just fine.

I've been looking into getting Linux/Unix.

I think that happened once on my computer at work with updates. It took it 2 hours to finish updating.

I've noticed something about the latest update.

Averaging about once every two weeks or so, the computer bluescreens.

It never says what the problem is, it just happens, then restarts, and chugs along for another two weeks.
