"Two men were told to leave a Sainsbury’s for holding hands – so people are organising a mass LGBT kissing event at the store.
A guard kicked Thomas Rees and his partner Joshua Bradwell out of the branch in Hackney, London, after a customer apparently complained about their ‘inappropriate behaviour’.
But now the LGBT community are showing that they won’t be made to feel unwelcome while doing their shopping, or at any other time, by organising this protest tomorrow at 6.30pm.
Mr Rees explained that he and his partner weren’t even PDAing in the store. He might have held Mr Bradwell’s hand, put his arm around him or stroked his hair, he said, but that was all.
‘There was so much wrong in that situation, particularly for it to be happening in 2016, that I was unable to articulate to him how angry I was,’ he told Channel 4 news.
The ‘Big Gay Kiss In’ has been organised by Huck Magazine News Editor Michael Segalov."
